Join a Committee
The Kenny Neighborhood Association (KNA) has four committees that work for the neighborhood.
Environmental Committee – meets 2nd Monday every month, 6:00 PM
The Environmental Committee is a group that is focused on sustainability of life in our community. We have launched initiatives to explore various aspects of sustainability and what we can do to make our community a healthier and better place for our families. We continue to explore on a broader scale how we can meet our needs as a neighborhood without compromising the needs of our community for generations to come.
Community Engagement Committee – meets 2nd Monday every month, 7:00 PM
The Community Engagement committee promotes engagement that preserves and improves the quality of life in Kenny neighborhood. This committee works to provide opportunities for residents to gather, get to know one another and build community spirit.
We host several events through the year such as a New Neighbor Picnic, Ice Cream Social, Summer Festival and more. We also support park events like Movies in the Park and Fire on Ice. Event information is always available through our calendar, Facebook page, email news and Nextdoor Kenny.
Communications Committee – meets 2nd Wednesday every month, 7:00 PM
The Communications Committee was formed in 2024 to address and improve KNA’s overall communications. We oversaw a complete website overhaul and currently manage the organization’s print newsletters, e-newsletters, social media presence, and overall communications.
The committee plans and executes communications on all digital platforms, including the e-newsletter, social media and the Kenny Neighborhood website to support events, community engagement and the mission of the KNA board. Meets the second Wednesday of each month.
Crime and Safety Committee
The Crime and Safety Committee was formed in 2020 to identify and help address neighborhood safety and security issues. Its current focus is on addressing safety from a community perspective, listening to our neighbors, providing resources to those in Kenny to feel better about where they live and creating a better network for communication between neighbors.
Join the KNA Board of Directors
The mission of Kenny Neighborhood Association is to foster a welcoming, thriving community that is inclusive in all that it does. To that end, KNA will encourage and support community involvement in the Kenny neighborhood; to stabilize and improve the residential, educational and economic status of the community; to function as a non-partisan, non-sectarian community action group keeping residents informed of proposals that affect the neighborhood; to coordinate and publicize activities in the community; to facilitate programs and projects to improve the neighborhood; and to represent the Kenny neighborhood before city boards, commissions, and other governmental entities.
