Kenny Neighborhood
Hello Kenny Neighbors! I have volunteered to start a PorchFest in Kenny (a single night of music highlighting the diverse talents of many of our neighbors!) and I am still recruiting Musicians and Hosts! If you are a player, professional or practicing, with at least 1.5 hours of material (does not need to be original) please consider volunteering your talents! And if you don’t play, you can volunteer your home as a stage! The link to register is here: https://bit.ly/KennyBYoBMusicFest2025
So who am I? I am a Kenny neighbor like all of you, also volunteering my time to this event. I live on 54th and Dupont and have the janky railroad crossing sign in my yard and the wild lawn that I am trying to convert into a bee lawn. Professionally I am a community organizer who has worked with neighborhood groups since they began over 30 years ago. In fact, the first neighborhood I worked for was Kenny, although that was years before I actually lived here! I started the Kingfield Neighborhood PorchFest 11 years ago and that event has grown into the most loved event of the year and frequently features over 30 stages and 50 bands on a single evening. Being our first year, the event in Kenny will be smaller than that but there is still enough interest to have a legitimate event! Our goal is to get a dozen or so stages of a variety of music scattered throughout the neighborhood so folks can wander, meet neighbors, and get exposed to some new genres of music. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]!
Save the date and let’s make some beautiful noise in Kenny!
