You’re Invited: Kenny’s Annual Ice Cream Social & Green Fair

Mark your calendars and bring your friends — Kenny Park is the place to be for one of the most anticipated neighborhood events of the summer: the annual Ice Cream Social & Green Fair! This festive gathering is more than just a chance to cool off — it’s a joyful celebration of community, music, sustainability, and sweet treats.

Come enjoy a fun-filled evening that brings neighbors together in the most delightful way. Treat yourself to free Sebastian Joe’s delicious, locally made ice cream, with a variety of flavors to choose from, including a gluten-free and dairy-free option so everyone can enjoy a taste of summer.

While you savor your frozen treat, kick back and enjoy a live outdoor concert by the talented Crosstown Community Band, filling the park with lively tunes and good vibes. We’re also thrilled to welcome back two community favorites: The Baron of Bubbles, who will fill the air with magical floating bubbles; and The Rainbow Lady of Balloons, who’ll wow kids and adults alike with her colorful and creative balloon art.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of City Church, our incredible neighborhood partner and proud sponsor of the ice cream. We’re so grateful for their continued support in making this event a highlight of the summer.

Explore, Learn, and Connect at the Green Fair

While the ice cream and music may draw you in, the Green Fair offers so much more to discover! Whether you’re a long-time environmental advocate or just curious about going green, there’s
something here for everyone. Stroll through booths hosted by both familiar faces and exciting new participants like BikeMN and the Twin Cities Bike Tour. You will once again have the opportunity to get your questions answered from a forester or a master gardener. There are lots of kid activities to learn about the environment. Find out about local foods, and mushroom foraging. Meet our Kenny Garden Club and learn what they do. Get to know your resources for recycling, water quality, stormwater management, and how we are doing as a neighborhood. Find out about clean energy and how to get started.

Stop by the KNA table and learn what we are doing to address the three top Kenny environmental priorities that you identified last summer:

#1 Enhance Kenny’s Tree Canopy.
#2 Remove Buckthorn Surrounding Grass Lake.
#3 Advocate for a Hazardous Waste Neighborhood Drop-Off Event.

We are also planning a community action idea wall for you. Stop by and take your favorite ideas home with you.

We know from our past neighborhood surveys that environmental issues are important to our residents. We are excited to provide this wealth of resources and have a conversation about what is important to you!

Bring your family, your neighbors, and your lawn chairs — it’s going to be a wonderful evening at the park you won’t want to miss!
