1. Buckthorn Berry Collection & Ink-Making Instruction

Meet at the bench on the southeastern shore of Grass Lake Wetland, Minneapolis.
Bring a seal-able container to collect 2-4 cups of berries. Everyone will receive a copy of the instructions we walk through (free zine!). The hope is that everyone will go home and attempt to make ink.
Note for parents: making buckthorn ink involves using the stovetop – please supervise as needed when you get home.
2. Buckthorn Inkscapes

Meet at the bench on the southeastern shore of Grass Lake Wetland, Minneapolis.
If you made ink last week, bring it so we can all check out each other’s work. If you didn’t make it to the previous workshop, or your ink didn’t turn out, there will be back-up ink available. We will spend the hour doing some quick ink drawings of the landscape.
All levels welcome; no experience required – instruction provided for those who want it. Paper, brushes, and water containers provided, although you are welcome to bring your own favorite art supplies!
