Ward-Wide Meeting on Community Engagement
We are seeking input from Kenny residents on the future of the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) and what it means to Kenny and surrounding neighborhoods that make up southwest Minneapolis. Your insight will help us provide a neighborhood focused response to the City of Minneapolis’ proposed “Framework for the Future” and the proposed changes to the neighborhood funding structure as we move to the future. This input will also help us form a more effective neighborhood organization as we continue to interact with the City on the neighborhood’s behalf. Lakes-area neighborhood organizations, including the Kenny Neighborhood Association (KNA) are sponsoring a ward-wide meeting at Lynnhurst Park to provide some additional background and gather your local perspective and insight:

Anthony to receive award from U of M

Two Minneapolis schools that have demonstrated outstanding results in increasing their students’ achievement in reading will receive awards on Feb. 22 from the University of Minnesota.

New Diamond Lake Road bridge opens today

The new Diamond Lake Road bridge over Interstate 35W near the Crosstown opens today. The old bridge was demolished in June as part of the Crosstown reconstruction project.

Seeking input on community engagement

The City of Minneapolis and the Community Engagement Task Force (CETF) would like to hear suggestions from the public on ways to build on and improve the community engagement (CE) system between the City and community organizations. The CETF recently drafted a report with recommendations and would like the public's suggestions for strengthening the recommendations before reconvening the task force to finalize the report for the Mayor and City Council.
